Through inheritance, the owning family acquired a portion of the Morosini Collection from Venice, leading to significant works of art finding their place within the castle walls, some of which remain to this day. During the early 20th century, the castle hosted not only Hungarian aristocrats but also royal princes and princesses from England and Germany, as well as Russian grand dukes. In the 1930s, the castle underwent another renovation, departing from its previous rich, distinctive historicist architecture. The main goal of the 2004 reconstruction and renovation was to restore the castle and its park to their original style from the 1898 period, including the mansard roof and the copper-made tower.   THE ARRANGEMENT OF THE CASTLE The lowest level is accessible through a separate entrance. The oldest parts of the castle, believed by some to date back to the 1300s, might have been an elongated courtyard house. In the current layout, the level houses staff, service, and communal spaces: a spacious kitchen of nearly 50 square meters with an 18-square-meter pantry, an impressive, cozy 64-square-meter restaurant/wine bar, staff quarters with a bathroom, staff dining room, and an additional four living spaces ranging from 20 to 27 square meters, suitable for guest rooms if needed. In addition to these spaces, the level includes utility rooms, a laundry room, water blocks, and other storage spaces. From this level, two staircases and an elevator lead to the castle. On the ground floor, you'll find the impressive main entrance with an exclusive foyer of 85 square meters, a nearly 70-square-meter ballroom with a terrace, a 50-square-meter dining room, and a 50-square-meter salon overlooking the French garden. Additionally, four rooms ranging from 24 to 29 square meters, one 52-square-meter room, a concierge/guard room, and water blocks are located on this level. The Leda statue is considered one of Hungary's most valuable sculptures, originally located in the Doge's Palace in Venice; it underwent restoration in 2005. The exact history of the Apollo statue is unknown, but it also originates from the collection. The other sculptures in the French park were commissioned by the current owner. A section of the garden features an exhibition of unearthed, unknown origin, and history torso sculptures.   OTHER SPECIAL FEATURES The bed prepared for the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty's wedding night can be found in one of the bedrooms.
